WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

I am from Mendenhall, Mississippi and am the only child of a single parent who didn’t attend school beyond the fourth grade. Consequently, I learned first-hand early on in life why it is so important to receive a great education and support base. As a child I also learned of God’s amazing love and accepted Christ as my Savior at an early age.

I have been married for 35 years and God has Blessed my husband and I with three sons! After seeing one of our sons struggle in school, I home schooled him and his brother for nine years. I also tutored and substituted for several years. My teacher certification was acquired through the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS). God’s love and salvation, my family, and education are very important to me.

WHY ARE YOU AT THE REDEEMER’S SCHOOL?

I believe the Lord has placed me at The Redeemer’s School to love, nurture and guide K-4 students in ways that will encourage self-confidence. My students will gain confidence as they learn that they are loved by God and are an important part of our class, their families and their communities.

I believe once students know how much they are loved they are more likely to make right choices, like treating others fairly and showing love. I firmly believe that showing compassion and love is important in developing great leaders of tomorrow. I hope my students will transfer the compassion they have received to better care for others and their communities.

WHAT’S YOUR HOPE FOR YOUR STUDENTS?

My hope for my students is that they will develop academically. We have a very strong curriculum in which the students will learn a vast number of concepts and procedures to prepare them for the next grade level. I am more than Blessed to be a part of this amazing journey at The Redeemer’s School.
