DREW GARDNER

5th Grade Teacher – History and Bible

WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

I was born and raised along the Florida/Alabama Gulf Coast. As the oldest of three boys, our home was often filled with excitement and laughter. Looking back, I see how the Lord faithfully worked through His Word, my parents and His people to bring me to Himself. My journey with the Lord led me to attend Belhaven University. During my time at Belhaven, I met my beautiful wife, Katie. We were married in the winter of 2014 and have two dogs, Piper and Frances.

WHY ARE YOU AT THE REDEEMER’S SCHOOL?

Living in the Broadmoor neighborhood provides great exposure to The Redeemer’s School and the impact it has on the community. While working at Belhaven University, I developed a relationship with Mr. Dyson and our conversations about education and ministry quickly evolved into possibilities to partner alongside The Redeemer’s School. It is my heart to live, serve, and love the Broadmoor community and the city of Jackson. Serving at The Redeemer’s School is a wonderful opportunity to combine my love for this community and passion for education.

WHAT’S YOUR HOPE FOR YOUR STUDENTS?

My hope for every student at The Redeemer’s School is each would first know they are loved and cherished by an Almighty, Everlasting, and Gracious God. As our students interact with peers, faculty, and staff it is my prayer that the Lord would move and capture each of their hearts for His glory. It is also my hope that each student finds TRS to be a haven from the storms of life. During pain and sorrow, they would be greeted with open arms of care. All the while, in the fulfillment of these hopes we strive to pursue academic excellence in all manners of study.
