WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

I grew up with both parents and am the fourth of their five children. I learned God’s Word and accepted Christ at a small Baptist Church in Jackson where I grew up. I’ve lived in Jackson my whole life, but I was not familiar with Redeemer Church or any other Presbyterian Church before I started attending Jackson State University in 2009. This is where I got involved with the Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) and met Elbert McGowan, Jr. I saw people my age who loved Jesus and were living Christian lives in a multitude of wonderful ways.  Soon after I started attending Redeemer Church and began to serve in the nursery.

WHY ARE YOU AT THE REDEEMER’S SCHOOL?

I felt working at TRS was a natural fit for me. I had been in denial about my purpose to work with children even though I had been doing that most of my life already. After a few endeavors in the opposite direction, when the opportunity to work at TRS presented itself, I pretty much leapt at the chance.

WHAT’S YOUR HOPE FOR YOUR STUDENTS?

My hope is not only that each student receives the best instruction possible, but that they come to realize God’s purpose for their lives and not to run away from it.
